Bright + Early’s first annual report just dropped!

What’s trending at conscious companies.

When I tell people about Bright + Early, the most common question I’m asked is some version of  “what’s really going on at work these days?”

We see inside so many organizations, getting a front row seat to their HR struggles and wins. How are companies dealing with pay in this tug of war between low budgets and inflation expectations? How is the remote vs return-to-work really going? And what’s coming next?

We pulled trends from our work with over 50 tech companies, creative teams and nonprofits in 2023, and some of the results surprised us. 

  • Were remote workers more (or less) engaged than hybrid or in-office folks? Nope.

  • Does a low budget for raises mean an automatic exodus? Also nope. 

What didn’t surprise us: the call for clarity. Between new open salary laws and open sharing on platforms like TikTok, employees are demanding to know how things really work at work. We’re in the era of the transparent workplace. As a certain person on a 5-continent, 150-show tour might say: Are you ready for it?
