If you’re a founder or working in HR, chances are you’ve run (or been told you should run) employee surveys. But what do they even measure? And how do you make a good one?
A well-designed survey can be a rocketship to a high trust environment; you ask for feedback, you listen, you deliver meaningful change. Plus, if you’re building an HR strategy from scratch, a survey is a great way to get your priorities in place. On the flip side a poorly executed one can have the exact opposite effect. Things like not respecting anonymity (especially when privacy was promised), or repeatedly asking for input that results in no change will get you in the proverbial doghouse.

Happy Pride! While Pride is a month of celebration, there’s still work to be done. According to QueerTech’s recent report, nearly 35% of respondents had experienced harassment at work due to their sexual orientation, and over 56% due to their gender identity. In an interview with Tech Talent North, QueerTech’s founders cited the need for better EDI, HR and work culture practices, as well as growing queer leaders.
