When I’m talking to founders, EDs, and other leaders, I often remind them that they have a rare design opportunity. Yes, they get to build a cool or impactful product, service, or program. But they also get to build a workplace. In many ways, that’s the more interesting challenge; you’re building a micro-world that revolves around the mission you’re on together, and designing the norms and culture that will make or break it.
Our mission at B+E is to craft the world’s best workplaces. I wouldn’t feel comfortable advising clients on pay equity while relying on contractors with no stability or benefits. I can’t go on TV and talk about work-life balance, then push my team to the brink of burnout behind the scenes. If we want better workplaces to exist in the world, we have to be willing to build them ourselves. We won’t always get it 💯 , but I’m proud of what we’ve built at Bright + Early and how we bake our values into not just the work we do, but the experience of being part of our own team.
And: it’s working. We’re growing, and looking for our next team member!
This role is ideal for an experienced HR pro who is both analytical and emotionally intelligent, endlessly curious about how organizations work, and excited about both the advising part of the job and the hands-on building.
They’ll work directly with a handful of organizations; some as their Half Time Head of HR, and with others on specific projects, where we design, build and launch compensation programs, performance systems, career paths, or other parts of how work “works”. Many of our clients have atypical structures, and we’re looking for someone who can think outside of the box and build something that resonates- even if it hasn’t been done that way before.
